Title: Need help calcutta 401te
Post by: Joe T on January 17, 2016, 02:02:15 AM
I'm trying to change the drag washers on my calcutta 401 te. The roller clutch inner tube is stuck on the drive shaft. Any ideas how to get it off?
Thanks, Joe T.

A little heat should work. Even a cigarette lighter should do. Just be careful of any plastic parts nearby.

Add any type of oil you have. Carefully pry up under the main gear in different places until you see it move. The inner tube.

When it's up a little pry under the inner tube and it will come loose.

I always lightly grease the main shaft during assembly.

Thanks guys. I heated it and was able to pry it off. It was rusted on there, I think that's why my drag wouldn't loosen before. Reel is working great now.
