I have a Shimano Curado 300DHSV that came to me in Rough Shape. It had been fished Dry and Fished more after that. I Cleaned and Tuned the Reel and Installed New Hedgehog Studio ZR Bearings everywhere. And a New Anti Reverse Bearing to Top it Off. Everything went well. I tested it out and had no Problems. Woke up this morning to bag it up. Picked it up turned the handle and the pinion is making that Famous Growling noise.I have read all the Threads about how to try to fix it. But I was wondering if it could be wore out springs or I need new gears and does Shimano still make replacment parts for this reel. Or does anyone have any Suggestions. THANKS
Is anyone out there.
off the top, it would be a new set of gears. it's odd that it did not make noise from the very beginning. either way, i hate to see you chasing your tail around on this one. :-\
I'm with Alan on this one, I would go with a main, and pinion gear set. Definitely should be replaced as a set.
That a 300DSV reel ? Hear some people refer to them as DHSV.
Shimano may not carry the spares themselves, but thy are in stock at http://southwesternparts.com/
