Title: Halibut fish n chips?
Post by: gstours on February 02, 2016, 03:21:44 AM
Here is a very short clip of a couple of halibut caught with a Diawa 400 reel.  The bait was whole herring, and squid. in about 150 ft of slack water.  These are the perfect eating size some say.

OOPS,  got things out of order,  but its still fishing.  We were using 16s Penns as well, they are rock solid for this and the 2 speeds rock.   See for yourself.   some days are slow.  this is summer rain in SE AK.   Forest fire danger quite low.

The rods are made by myself.  The one in the picture on the floor with 2 fish and the diawa 400 is a 30-50 wt Gorilla glass blank 6ft.  from Mudhole,  and the others were early Sabre blanks that are glass.  I like the Aftco Lite guides for my fishing and use them exclusively as they have never given me any problems.  Thanks for watching.
