Hello all you Accurate Specialists,
I have an Accurate kit (spool, frame, and sideplates). I have everything greased up and when trying to install the Jigmaster bridge, somehow the bridge screw holes do not line up with the Jigmaster bridgeplate. :-\
Do I have to literally use a penn 112 (3/0) bridge? Is there a difference between a Jigmaster and 3/0 bridge?
I am able to line up two of the bridge screws on the Jigmaster bridge, but then the gearsleeve is touching the top of the hole where the spacer coller goes.
It seems that I have to use a taller bridge.
Help.... :-\
Thanks in advance :)
the 112 uses a 3-66 bridge and a 112H uses a 3-112H bridge, so neither one uses the Jigmaster 3-500 bridge
You beat me to it. Yes the 112 uses a different bridge than a Jigmaster.
Thanks guys,
I got two bridges (3-66 and 112H).
They both look alike, except that the center hole where the bridge surrounds the pinion is larger on the 3-66 bridge. Because of this larger hole, I am thinking that it will allow me to move the bridge lower and now the screw holes can line up and the gearsleeve should be centered in the hole that the spacer collar sits.
Ill try installing it when I get back home and report back.
Thanks again fellows... :)
Do it right & get a 500 bridge. The side plates are made for a jigmaster.
Rudy,
Accurate made a small run of side plates for the 3/0 reel. Jigmaster bridge will not fit.
Bryan, if the 112H doesn't fit it must be for a jigmaster.
Rudy, he didn't say that the 112H bridge didn't fit. It sounds like he hasn't tried it yet. The 112H bridge will fit if they are 3/0 Accuplates. If they have a hole at the top of each side plate, they are 3/0 Accuplates. The Jigmaster Accuplates do not have that hole, and the hole locations for the frame cross members are much closer together in the Jigmaster Accuplates than the 112H, just like they are in the stock Penn side plates.
Got it
Ok, good morning everyone and thanks again for the feedback.
Yes, I did try the 3-66 bridge and it also did not work. Then I tried the 112H bridge and Bingo! Although the jigmaster and the 112H bridge look very identical, the bridge screw holes for the jigmaster bridge does not line up with the sideplate. Just by looking at the two bridges, the eye cannot see the difference, but once you put the hardware together, there is a difference.
Everything went well with the 112H bridge and the purple accurate reel spins like a dream. :)
The only other modification that I had to do was swap the gear sleeve because the star was the fine tooth star.
Thanks again everyone....
