Does anyone know if there's a special tool that is meant to be used for removing the Drag Cover on the spool of various Shimano Stella models? I don't own a Stella myself, but I've been reluctant to removing this part since I haven't been able to remove it using my hands, and various tools that "kinda fit" is not something that I will apply to reels sent to me for service.
I tried Google to see if I could find more info, but I didn't find any tool for the job.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I have only worked on one, some time ago, can't remember the model. I made a 'Tool' out of aluminium but stiff plastic would probably do it.
Have a look at:

What did you use to make the tool?
Are they plumbing/pipe type crimp or soldered connectors?
They look like conduit connectors...there should be a hole not shown for a set screw....Bill

I thought the same thing a electrical conduit connector. What is the hole with the set screw for and where does it go? If you don't mind me asking a dumb question. Thank You.
No worries, when the conduit is inserted into the coupler, the set screw is tightened perpendicular to the conduit to secure it in the coupler...Bill
