Title: Drag tighten itself on 750ss
Post by: Marcq on March 13, 2016, 09:15:21 PM
Almost finish a rebuilt of a 750ss and notices after upgrading the drags with Bryan's kit that the drag tightens itself when testing the drag
Using the stock drag knob if it makes a difference

What would cause that?

Bad orientation of the washers.

If washer order looks good, you might try measuring the height of the new stack and checking it against the old.

A stack that sits too low can allow the drag knob to touch the spool, leading to both of them turning together as a unit.

Good to know, I was wrong on the height of the new stack being a possible factor.
