Maybe I shouldn't use the word porn, but it seems appropriate.
With the 12 yr old rule firmly in place..... ;D...made me drool
Just the way I like to see my old Penn reels. Spooled up RTG!
Shweeeeet! :P
good , but why are your rods standing with their butts up in the air? thats porny! ha ha.
Rods are hanging on ceiling rod holders.

Mark, next time you post pics , I want to see some fish next to those.
Here are a few pics of what was done to these reels to make them Grouper Specials, just in case some of you want to give it a shot.
I already have a Grouper Special thread going, but I did something different with the dog spring on this one, I thought it was worth sharing.
These reels already came with Tib frames and power handles, but Mark wanted something stronger than the aluminum arms. I decided to go with the boss cranks on this one.
here is the reel at start, Mark really gives these reels a workout, this tells me that he's enjoying them.

here is what the parts looked like when done

I replaced the 5-113 main brass gear and the 13-113 pinion with the 5-149 steel gears and the 13-113H pinions, this is a perfect match, I gained a half revolution per crank, from 2:1 to 2.6:1.
The reels also got Bryan's ultimate drag kit and a heat treated ss sleeve.

the right side dog spring sits in a hole, carefully drilled. Most of the dog and spring sits on the outer edge of the bridge, but it isn't going anywhere, the sping is secured on both ends.
