Title: Charter Special TR 1000 LD
Post by: swill88 on April 02, 2016, 08:59:02 PM
Got this reel at a pretty good price from an SF pawn shop last week.

Tom's frame is on the way from Alan (the last one I believe).

My question is; this reel reads '3 Ball Bearings'... newer models read 4; where is the 4th ball bearing on the newer models?

Can I upgrade?

Steve

as per schematics 5 bearings instead 4.

Two Worm Bearings (#139) instead Bushings.

It has bearings unless there is a brass bushing in the left side plate.

Charter specials have 4 bearings.
7x17x5 right hand side plate.
5x11x4 drag plate body
5x11x4 spool
7x14x5 left side spool

There is 3 bearings used to make the drag function the fourth only supports the spool.
