We met at 6:00 AM loaded our gear on Glens cat and we went to catch bait Glen brought his son Noah to mate and he was a great kids, not like a lot of teens these days. We had a great day caught fish and enjoyed our company.
We were slow trolling for blackfins with live cigar minnows at first light but kept getting kingfish cutoffs, glen said the tuna won't hit wires and he doesn't like kingfish, after a hour or so we made our way out to the snapper spot. We picked away but there was no current so the bite was slow and no show way up the water column like usual in this spot. then it got exciting as a school of good size dolphin show up in the chum. One hit the flat line and when it got close we saw the others which we tossed bait to and we are on then a third hook up but it was a Bonita. We landed the two but the others left. :-\ We caught lots of out of season gags we had to release.
After a long spell of slow fishing (no mangos the target species), we moved about five miles away and we caught some nice big mangos, some yellowtails and the nice Cobia. We picked away at the Mangos so long it was to late to look for permit on the way home the crabs in the well would live a while longer.

Nice box$
Way to go! Good variety of flavor and textures...Snapper, Dolphin and Cobia. Can't beat that.
What a great day. Congratulations on beautiful weather and a fantastic catch for dinner and freezer. We are tied up over here for the next few days with 7-8 foot seas.
Nice box! Was that Tampa Bay area, or up north?
Off Eggmont, 40 miles out it's a little ledge that hold lots of 8lb Mangos.
