Title: Change linecountersideplate to a "regular" sideplate on Daiwa Saltist LW20LCHA ?
Post by: Drisse on May 24, 2016, 06:15:07 PM
Hi !

I have in mind to replace the linecounter sideplate on a Daiwa Saltist LW20LCHA to a "regular" sideplate. Asked around and was told it should be possible. Bought a sideplate for a Daiwa Saltist STTLW20HA. It fits nice, but the reel got a bit stiff and doesn't run properly. I measured the idle gears on both sideplates and got 1mm difference in widht. So I think its the idle gears or the spoolgears I have to replace. I cant change the idle gears between the sideplates.

Any ideas ? Someone here who have changed sideplates ?

Regards !

Sorted it out. Got help from Daiwa and one of their reeltechnicians and it was another spoolgear I needed. Very good service from Daiwa in Scotland.

Do you happen to have the part numbers for the replacement sideplate and spoolgear? was thinking of doing the same since the linecounter on my Saltist doesn't work anymore and I decided I don't like the way the counter sticks out. I call that reel the "carpal tunnel destroyer" reel, lol.
