Title: Is the Penn Z series considered to be as well made as the "Greenie" series?

Or better?

Just wondering. I would like to eventually buy a vintage Penn Z or two.

They are the same.

Handi's right, of course; they are functionally identical. Cosmetically, however, I've found that the greenies do seem to be a bit more prone to showing wear, rash, etc.  :)

I have a 711 green machine and a 713Z. I feel that they perform equally. I swap them depending on what I am doing and how I am feeling. The green machine is a head turner, often the butt of jokes. Old Penn reels are like an episode on YouTube of Farm Truck drag racing. The green monster has just as much good stuff under the hood.
