Title: convector 30 versus 45
Post by: mriversinco on March 12, 2011, 01:28:45 AM
Hi, does anyone know if the Okuma Convector 45's use the same size carbon fiber washers as the 30's?  I see in the tutorial that the 30 uses a penn ht-100 #56-440 so I'd like to know before ordering parts for my 45.

Thanks

Not sure.  Best to open the reel and roughly compare the drag size with one here http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=21.0.  Please let us know if it's the same size.

They appear to be the same. You should be able to get an idea from here:  http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/

Take care, Sal

Just to answer my own question, I took the 45 apart and compared it to the 30 on the diagram and they sure look the same.  Not really trusting that, I went and borrowed a friends 30 and they are exactly the same.  In fact, it looks like most of the internal parts are the same between the 2 model.

Thanks for the help.
