Title: Senator Spring washers
Post by: LAHossman on June 30, 2016, 08:10:29 PM
I have an old Penn Special Senator 4/0 113H. It has the top hat spacer/washer. Before disassembling, I noticed that the there is an open gap between the top hat spacer going down into the drag stack. Is this normal. I ordered the smooothdrag stack from Dawn. I measured the old stack compared to the new and they are the same thickness 12mm. Instead of the new sleeve I am planning on using the old top hat. How do you position the spring washers " ) [] ( " or " ( [] ) " -- spring+top hat spacer+star+handle ?

I had this saved in my notes from one of my past repairs, maybe it will help:

"OUTSIDE STYLE DRAGS – converting to new stack 113H. 140- missing, 18-970 pushes the stack up too high and makes a gap – sub the 18-970 to an 18-80W. It fills the space better, has great tension on the stack and both lowers the 136- cover and fills the gap. "
