No. Line-X is not the same as flex seal. Line-x is what is sprayed on as a truck bed liner. It dries rock hard, and seals and protects the metal. It has a multitude of automotive and vessel uses. I know one gent who used it on the deck of his aluminum boat to seal the rivets (older Valco) and provide a no-slip-grip. Worked famously.

I had that in the bed of my old chevy Z71.  Tough as heck, but somehow gave the impression it was soft.  It really wasn't though.

I have an older valco bay runner baja 22' with cuddy cabin.  I'm having the entire hull sprayed with linex. 
That stuff is incredible.
