Sorry no photos but I fished San Clemente island today for a very good calico bass bite. I think 3 yellowtail were caught and one that was pushing close to 30 lbs.
The reason for this report is not for what we caught but what we saw. About 8 or so miles outside of Newport harbor we see a fin and this one looked kind of big. We swing the boat by for a closer look and we see a white shark maybe 8-10' slowly making it's way towards the Wedge (a well known body surfing spot). It was nice to see such a great creature and hopefully its looking for seals and not body surfers :o
