A friend is looking for a new reel. He's a Penn guy.
Has anyone any thoughts on the Penn's New Squal 12 AND 15 ?

yeah if he wants to stick with Penn, I told him for $50 more go for the Fathom,
all metal, twice as much drag.
or the International TRQ100 a certain website has on sale for $269

Hey Yeah!  The Penn Torque 100 is a fine reel.  I had a Striped Marlin on last week.  I had fun for about 2 minutes until it broke off.  I thought the 100 held pretty good.  I had a full reel of 25lb flouro on it.  I think if I had had mono with a little more stretch, I might have been able to bring it to the boat.  With greased drags, that Marlin peeled off line as smooth as a, well, a greased drag.  Dominick
