Title: Stuck click spring
Post by: FatTuna on September 10, 2016, 04:25:03 PM
Hey guys, I have a reel that has a jammed click spring. It's really small and really jammed. Any ideas on how to remove it?

Is it possible to remove it by welding something to it? The pin is magnetic but the spool is made from aluminum. The spool isn't functioning correctly due to the jammed pin. It has to come out.

The pin sits on a spring inside a hole. See pictures.

You guys are the best. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Btw, do you see all the scratch marks? Does it look like someone already opened the spool and tried to fix this?

Im not really sure, can you depress the pin enough to get a dental pick or similar device into the hole?  Stand by Im sure someone will chime in soon with a better solution.....Bill

The pin won't budge in either direction.....

The pin seems to be ceased in a depressed state already compared to the one which is removable. Soak in penetrating fluid and a drift punch should help get things moving again.  ;)

It's a ZeeBaas. The click spring is for the clicker but the springs also push the drag plate in place.
