Very nice fish! Bill, so far I've hooked 3 and landed 2. The third one was a big cow that broke my leader at the boat. I had salmon for dinner last nite.  :)

The only salmon we have in Florida is at the grocery store. Bummer. We do have ultra mini halibut sort of.

Dominick, I believe it ends on Dec 31st, but you wouldn't want to eat them that late in the season because they have turned grey inside and outside. I usually stop fishing for them after halloween.

Last year the water temp was still in the 70' when they came up. It's too hot for them and they change color quicker. On Sunday, the water temp at Veirra's was 65.5, which is great. we should be catching chromers for a while.

Boy howdy, you couldn't prove that by me. I went out on the pier 3 times yesterday and couldn't even force a reaction bite on anchovy  or sardines. My partner who has a boat took his SiL and 3 grand kids out and they got 3 keepers from 21" to 27" His eldest GS is currently in 2nd place in the junior division.

Are you entered in the Derby, or just fishin' to fish today? I will be at home trying to finish the cross wrap on my old Shimano.
