Title: montauk fishing gear reel or canyon reel

I was looking at the montauk fishing gear reel and posted on another site. They said canyon was the same reel different name.
Are there any reviews on these reel?

They are the same reel but different names.  What do you want to use the reel for?

boat  striped bass fishing.
I heard the name an was wondering about the company and the quality.
Another site said there was a review on this site but I can't seem to find it.

I would go with a avet.  If you keep a avet within the rated drag it will be a great reel and a lot cheaper than the mtk or canyon.  Take a look at my site blackwidowtackle.com  Match a avet with the mc cast control with a Phenix inshore assassin rod and you will have a killer combo:)
