I'm to weary to unwrap all of it but I had 3 1+ hour conversations with the guy prior to my 328 mile road trip starting at 5 am this morning... I thought I would share a few pics of the haul ::) He wanted to toss out all the paper, but I said no! I can recycle as easy as you can. He was going to toss the burlap sacks..I said no I'll take those to (including the ultra rare 1951 Cuban Coffee bean sack ;D ). I even took the mans 40+ year old High Seas boots. I told him if I make the trip I'm going home with it all. Canvas fighting harnesses with brass clips as well...The tubes include custom Fenwick trolling rod, fenglass 7' an another Truline an a cut down 5 1/2' Fenwick jig stick he had the Newell Squidder Jr. on (the spool and base were found as well) Freakin' early Christmas...Thanks for looking guys and gals.
;D ;D ;D

MEGA haul! Good work Tim!
..........Lou
Nice! I have that Charlie Davis Hook Up book.
I recently accurired a Harnell rod with the same guides as your showing.
SCORE...SCORE...way to go Tim. It was worth the drive. Dominick
Here's the Squidder with the narrow Newell conversion...I pulled the line and a bit of hot water and a quick wipe down. I know the screws are there to. Dominick if we would have got back earlier fishing with Khanh I was going to ask JT to stop in Castro Valley and try to make the deal Wednesday, but it was better this way, I got a better price, coffee and pumpkin muffins from the neighbor ;D. The 112H is stunning & I have all the mounting hardware for all the Penn's, never used.

Way to score Tim. Your going to have days of fun reading through all those magazines alone.
Wow :o
Nice haul there.
Those old papers, and that harness are pretty cool.
Gives you an appreciation for the history there.
OK boys and girls these pics are going out to anyone that works on rod restoration...This a Truline black 7' 20-30? custom wrap from about 40 years ago and the plastic/nylon? guides are cracked..Can this be fixed and restored as is or does it need a re wrap? I'm going to copy this post in the rod section as well. I would love to fix the guides and maybe re cote ??? and keep as is and either sell or fish?

great haul tim, definately worth the drive. harryk
WOW!!!!1 :o
I am no expert, but I have had cracked inserts tear up mono before. I HATE inserts. Good old stainledd boat guides are what work for me.
Ron
Nice rod, those cracked inserts can't be repaired. A set of chrome boat guides would work fine and be correct for that rod. I have a few sets, pm your address and I'll send them to you if you want, if you can figure out the tip size I'm sure I'd have one that would work. Definitely fish that rod before you sell it, everyone should fish a Truline at least once. Sheridan
Holy cow. Come all this way and don't stop by? Sanh. Lol
Nice score. Looks like some awesome reels and rods with a bunch of historic publications as well.
Cool stuff BT!
What model is the Harnell?
Looks like you did good Tim. Nice stuff!
I spy a daiwa 4000c, old school wooden boxes and at least 8 crown royal bags! Can't really tell by the pictures, are the ceramics on that rod intact? If so just epoxy the plastic/nylon back in and fish it. The guides are toasted already so you're not hurting anything if it doesn't work out. I have a hack for replacing the guides, remove just the threads on one foot only, slide the guide out, slide the new one in with epoxy then thread the small portion removed. Works great for a quick repair anyways.
Wow! Awesome, those tackle boxes are amazing (along with everything else ;D)
Man I do love a good haul of old stuff....nice work BT.
