Title: Cast Control on E series
Post by: Peixaria on March 29, 2011, 09:50:27 PM
The cast control knob I have read here is a spool tensioner knob, not a magnetic knob designed to control spool speed like on more primitive reels[like Ambasadeurs] I am interested has anybody ever modified an E series 270 XC or 870XC single speed with a magnetic control or if it is physically possible with the other set of drags on the lefthand side of a righthanded reel. I want to use my converted reel as a surf rod at Cape Hatteras and surrounding areas as a beach reel. Just wondering if it is possible and how difficult might the modification be. Also where would be the best place to drill into the endcap and position the mag. Thanx in advance. Peix in Buxton
