Title: How to fix a baitrunner 3500
Post by: lionel_llc on November 19, 2016, 12:45:12 PM
Hi there,

Before I fire off my query, just want to say thank you Alantani for having this amazing website.

Ok. Here goes. I have a baitrunner 3500 which has been with me for a long time. However, the anti reverse is now not working and do not know how to fix it. Can someone help me? I had tried looking for its schematic as well to attempt to understand the problem. But, the only schematic I found was the baitrunner 3500b which showed a different anti reverse assembly from mine.

Here is a pic of my baitrunner an anti reverse assembly.

It should be one of the attached schematics.

Thank you Terry and Tiddlerbasher for the schematics. It looks like my anti reverse spring bawl some what different to the schematic. Could this be the cause of the anti reverse being faulty?!!

your pawl spring (RD 0595) doesn't look right (too spread out) -- if it's bent, cracked, or out of place, it may not be guiding the pawl (aka "dog" - RD 0132) to the ratchet (RD 0902)

this looks like it:

these may also work:

...but don't rush to buy one -- you may just need to carefully bend your original back into correct shape and/or make sure it's correctly seated

Do what he said. The spring needs to be tighter around the part that the spring sits in. Make sure the pawl moves freely.

In your photo it looks like the dog is not seated and is hung up on top of the eccentric.  Line up the flat edge of the eccentric and the long edge of the dog as the dog screw is tightened.

Hi all, manage to fix it. I had just bend the pawl spring to the image philaroman provides and it worked straight away. Thank you again to all.
