Nice produce, Sal.  Growing up with gardens, that top picture is what my Mom always made Chow-Chow out of.

Kind of a Southern recipe with all the late garden stuff tossed together, shredded and pickled. Yum-yum!

Its always a good thing to eat from your own garden, but dont let Chili see these photos he's a self proclaimed Chili Head and you might find him raiding the garden   :D   Bill

Thanks for the earthy pictures pal,  gardens take a little time but pay back with rewards that are many and varied,  I,m already planning my beds for a rotation.  I,ve got a small green house and was eating vine ripened tomatoes right up till a couple of weeks ago.   Im envious of the eggplants too.  Ive still got Kale growing despite some frosts here in Southeast Ak.   Fish scraps make good fertalizer too!    Its all theraputic!       gst.

Thanks guys and gals.
Nothing like eating your own vegetables.
Great looking garden, Long Enuff. Fish is an excellent fertilizer, I use it as well.
Good idea as you do it, but my wife wouldn't get close to it.
I put mine in when she's not looking and  quickly cover it up with dirt. :)

Nice garden haul Sal! We just ripped out our tomato plants this week and have about 50# of green tomatoes we need a recipe for...My wife just planted the winter garden this weekend.

Fried green tomatoes is always good. Slice and dredge in seasoned cornmeal and fry like you would squash. I used to know an old gentleman that made a green tomato relish that was off the chart, but I don't have his recipe.  You can wrap them in newspaper and put them in a cool dark space and they will slowly ripen. My Mother used to spread them out under her bed.

Here's the start to homemade pasta sauce... Roasted homegrown tomatoes,  onions,  garlic,  and herbs.  The only thing in this that wasn't homegrown/homemade was the olive oil...Our garden did great this year
