Go to Cha Cha Chicken for lunch. It's a Jamaican place. Great jerked chicken!

My first trip to CA was to Santa Monica.  Back in the day when it was a surfing mecca.  I learned to surf there.  I won't get on a surfboard now, too stiff.   :( :'( Dominick

Santa Monica bay is some of the most polluted ocean on the west coast   :'(.....I used to dive for lobsters 20 miles north of there.....and my dad used to fish the pier back in the 50's.....they just finished the California Incline that takes you from PCH to Santa Monica Blvd.....I had some great times out there....If you have time drive north on PCH to the county line and eat at Neptune's Net.....good food and great surfing there....farther north is Point Mugu Rock that is famous in lots of car commercials......Bill

The Santa Monica Bay is actually in pretty good shape now. I started working boats out of Marina Del Rey in the late 80's and the pollution levels were still pretty bad. Not too much variety of life on the reefs. Nowadays, there's blueperch, blacksmith, and triggerfish all over the place! Water clarity is good. Not to mention the lobstering has been excellent the past several years.
