Title: removing anodizing
Post by: Swami805 on December 04, 2016, 03:38:00 AM
Greetings, I have an old accurate handle blade, the colors faded and it has a few gacks in it. What's a good way to get it to bare aluminum and maybe get a little shine to the aluminum? Thanks Sherian

Anodizing shops have a solution they can dip the part in and strip the anodizing, but if you do that you'll want to reanodize to protect the raw aluminum.  Just painting it won't protect the metal.

Might try Oven Cleaner....my brother used to use it to strip anodizing from his bicycle parts back in the day.....Bill
