Title: Shimano Calcutta 400B
Post by: swoffer on December 17, 2016, 03:40:07 AM
Hi all

Just wondering if anyone can help with info on how to get the left side plate on these off ?

None of the Calc tutorials seem to deal with the LHs.

Cheers Al

Once you remove the spool, there will be a number of screws visible to you on the inside of the left side. A larger flat head, that needs to be accessed thru a hole on the right side frame. A short phillips head screw that holds the idle gear in place, and then at 10 o'clock is a longer phillips head.

Careful when removing the idle gear, as there is a small washer that fits between the frame and idle gear. They can fall out, and you may be guessing where it came from.

Good luck.

Terry.

Thanks Terry , so once I take these screws out and the idle gear , the side plate will just "fall" off ?

Thanks Al

Edit to say "Got it" thanks a million .
