Title: Penn 209
Post by: papabutch on April 08, 2011, 02:13:52 AM
I have several Penn 209 reels (8) some with purple sides some are black. They all have 209 on them, yet when i look for parts most sites ask if they are 209M or many other letters after the 209. How do I find these other letters if mine just are stamped 209?

The M means it has a chrome over brass spool, L now means an aluminum spool (long ago it stood for left hand), LH is now left hand, H is high speed, N is narrow, SP special spool for wire line, and W is a wide spool.
