Title: Knob colors
Post by: reel man on January 06, 2017, 06:22:20 AM
This has probably been discussed in the past, but I'll pose the question.  Once upon a time did the color of the knobs on some Penn reels designate which year they were built?

Generally no, you cannot made that assumption.  Below you will find a link to a discussion of Penn Handles.

A person can tell more about the era of a Penn handle by the counterbalance, but just "era". There is no way to put a "year" on any Penn handle, except some found in early to mid 30's
