Title: Heads up! Avet part key and name changes
Post by: mike1010 on January 27, 2017, 10:14:15 PM
The schematics for at least the SX and MX series reels on the new Avet web site use different part keys from the schematics that were on the old web site.  Those old schematics were also what shipped with the reels, at least as recently as last spring.  This is not a Gen1/Gen2 change.  It is renumbering and renaming the parts on the Gen1 reels.

One example:  On the old schematic for the SX 5.3, key 54, part SX53-054, is the "locking plate screw."  On the new schematic for the same reel, the same part is key 32, "acorn lock nut plate screw."  There may be some parts that retain their old keys, but that would be a happy accident.  This is not the end of the world, but it is inconvenient for those of us that track our spare parts with the old part keys.  To order parts now, we have to translate from old to new.  Don't throw out those old schematics unless/until you've converted your records to the new scheme.  It is surprising that Avet appears not to provide a map from old to new keys.

I expect that the other series reels have undergone similar changes.

This is at least the second time Avet has done this...
