Title: Something Succulent This Way Comes
Post by: ChileRelleno on February 12, 2017, 11:56:51 PM
Another variation of the Atomic Buffalo Turd aka Poppers.

For these I pulled out some leftover Pulled Pork and two pounds of the sausage/cream cheese mixture from my last poppers, that I had frozen for just such an occasion as this.  I combined these ingredients 2:1 for my filling this time around.

Then I roasted, skinned and seeded several Pablano and New Mexico aka Hatch, Anaheim and Green chiles.

Stuffed them full and finally wrapped them in thick cut bacon.

And into a 325-350'F smoker they went.
They looked and smell pretty good when they came out.

But sight and smell did them no justice.
Holy Schmokes are they freakin good!

Looking good! I would have that pulled pork in a toasted kaiser roll, topped with a couple of those peppers an extra sharp provolone.
Good stuff John!

John I beg you stop posting pictures of bacon wrapped food.  I had a blood test and my cholesterol is off the charts.  My doctor asked me if I have been looking at food porn lately.  When I told him about you he advised me to not look bacon in the eye.   :D ;D I wish I was there.  Dominick

That was lunch Sal.
Toasted Kaiser rolls and steaming pulled pork topped with some pickled onions and Sweet-n-Spicy / Sweet Baby Ray's.

And snacking in between on the Valentines Lasagna I made for my wife yesterday... Which I neglected to post.  ::)

I'll try, but no promises.
I recommend two Livalo, a Lipitor and a large fruit salad after viewing my posts in this forum.

I have the highest cholesterol in the universe, the good news is it's not caused by food!  Hah I eat all the bacon wrapped pork stuffed goodies I want.  I printed out pictures of those little puppies and I'm thinking about eating them?
This is as bad as looking at a page full of Teds reels.

They aren't little, fairly large in fact, not snacks/hor d'oeuvres like normal Jalapeno Poppers.
8-10" Anaheims and fat Pablanos, the pulled pork mixture was very substantial.
Two or three of these with a sauce, served with rice and beans would be a filling meal.

now thats a chile relleno

I like to do a similar recipe but use Yellow Jalapenos instead, the good thing that its like playing russian roulette, you never know when the real extra hot yellow chile will appear, most of them are mild spicy, but some are hot and few are extra hot, you never know which one is the one on your hand  ;D :D

You can still have bacon, just be careful of how much.
Have a palmful of sunflower nuts, unsalted, either raw or lightly roasted, every day.
