Title: ABU 6500c3 The Original clicker
Post by: Soren Bredberg on February 25, 2017, 06:08:47 AM
I have recently acquired this ABU 6500C3 reel which I duly cleaned and out jumped this spring loaded clicker mechanism which is one I have never seen before. Can anyone advise me how to put this together as I have tried every which way with no success.

As it sits in the photo, turn the clicker plate over from right to left.  After turning it over, the clicker plate hole on the left will line up with the side plate screw hole at 9:00.  The clicker plate hole on the right will line up with the side plate screw hole at 1:00.  The black bushings go between the clicker plate and the side plate with the screws passing through them.

In case that is not confusing enough, here is a schematic for a left handed 6501 C3.  It will be a mirror image of your reel.

Oops, the on/off is on top of the left side plate. Sorry.
