Title: Tr100g pinion gear removal
Post by: Fishysmell on April 02, 2017, 09:35:13 PM
Hello, new to working on Tr100g. This reel would not go to free spool, so I'm down to try to remove pinion and yoke, yoke sticks and has some corrosion I'd like to remove and clean up, but do not know how pinion comes off. What am I missing? Or thinking wrong?

Never mind I figured it out, that the pinion is very stuck to the shaft. That's the entire trouble with the thing. Now how to free the gear is the question? (without damage).

Use two boards to clamp on the pinion and twist the gear off.

Got it, just took more force than I thought it should.
Thanks, Geo.

How do the gears look?  Often when I run into this situation I have to replace the gears, main and pinion.
