New guy here, got a lot of good info from trolling the forums. Had Alan upgrade a couple of reels for me a few years ago, did a jam up job.

We spent a few days in Florida ladt year -- really enjoyed Cape Canaveral.

Dwight (NewelNut) is pretty close to you.  He builds great custom rods, knows everything about Newells, and fishes the headboats outta New Symrna Beach.

Miss fishing in Florida! :-\ Had some wonderful days at Cape Canaveral Park and down at Sabatian's Inlet.  Someday I will be back there!  Welcome!

Welcome to the most friendly fishing (reel repair) website. I have only fished that area twice. Back when marine diesel was $1.00 a gallon. We went way out (weather buoy) looking for Yellowfin but struck out on them. We did land some nice Dolphin (all 20-30lbs) and lost a White Marlin. It was still a nice trip even for the long run  by S. Florida standards. The second trip was a land based fall trip surf fishing and we killed the  bluefish, although I am not crazy for them unless smoked.

Welcome aboard, we lived in Highland Beach for 8 years then we decided to move to Rep of Panama, still have lots of friends in Florida.
