Title: Penn 710z eccentric lever loose.
Post by: Johnj67 on April 17, 2017, 07:04:26 PM
Just greased and oiled my 710z, everything seemed ok, but I can't seem to get the eccentric ,a/r tight. Lot of play in the lever, I'm baffled. I did it again and same thing. Any ideas.  Thanks guys

If everything is tight, John --

Check the eccentric liner -- it could be missing or worn down.

New one is $1.65 at Scott's -- or you could try a thin spring washer to take up the slop -- and bend it to suit your preference on tightness.

If Scott's does not have the liner -- I have some, if that is the problem.

Or, it could just be an assembly issue -- or not snugged up enough.

Best,

Fred

Thank you Fred, I will break it down and try again, I need the practice, and I will stick those greenbacks in the mail , I forgot which address I had the spools mailed to and I don't want to keep you waiting. Also I could use a couple 302 spools and drags if you have any.
Thank you
