Title: Update: Penn squall 30 non levelwind
Post by: BluCat2 on April 27, 2017, 04:57:09 PM
About a week and a half ago I posted about my penn squall 30 conventional asking about adjustments.
I received several suggestions, they didn't seem to help much,so I decided to mag it.
So i took my measurements, glued 2 half washers into the left side plate and added 2 stacks of 1/4 inch rare earth magnets.
I also dropped down to 25 lb BBG line.
Tried it out this morning and the results were great, didn't hurt the distance to much and I was able to loosen up the spool a bit
The reel ran smooth with hardly any fluff, didn't need to thumb it until the last second.
Happy boy here.
Thanks to all who posted there suggestions in the first post
