While putting 65 lb braid on a brand new Penn 16 VS the reels starts to make an intermittent high-pitch squealing noise. Is this something I can easily fix or should it go back to Penn now? Carl
Hard to say . Is the noise from the reel , or is it the braid singing .. Pulling line through the guides ? joe
check the lip of the spool and see if it's been rubbing.
Noise is definitely from the reel - on the handle side. Don't see any wear makes in the spool lip. I'll have to remove the spool to check.
