Title: Tekota 800 jerky drag
Post by: Hadge on May 23, 2011, 10:23:47 PM
Working on two Tekota 800 , the drags are very jerky under pressure.
Reels are new
I saw Alan's tutorial on the 700 so I just ordered two sets of new carbontex drags from smoothdrag.
I will see if that helps the drags out.

Alan and Dawn,

I will post back with the results of the new carbontex washers that will be greased.
These reels are used for salmon fishing on Lake Michigan.  We will troll 450' of copper line from these reels. This is a lot of work on the reel when you hook a 18lb salmon with 450' of copper.
Hope to test this fix out soon. Thanks for your help. Dawn thanks for the nice service over the phone.

Dawn
I got the washers already and have them installed. I will let you know if they did the job as soon as we get out and hook up with a fish.
Thanks Hadge

The tekota 800's are working great with the new carbontex drags I placed in them. The difference is truly amazing.
