Title: New Reels?
Post by: nelz on July 28, 2017, 04:52:14 PM
I just stumbled upon some very nice looking Abu knock-off type reels made by "Ming Yang " (Hong Kong) company. They come loaded with all the most desirable features at bargain prices.

Anybody heard of or have any experience with these?

They have been around for a long time, I owned 3 of them 10 years ago, I still have parts. One of my Abu 5500 as a handle that came from those reel.Very good caster but hard to control, very fast, actually installed an adjustable mag on the abu5 size one that worked really well. Unfortunately they don't last, maybe they make them better

I just serviced a KastKing Baitcaster that looks like the Abu Garcia reels. It's loud.

The "cog" wheel is brass. No plastic anywhere on the levelwind system. The customer complaints were the noise but all I could do was grease it more.

Will the parts interchange with the Abu reels.
