Well after the exitement and confusion a picture seemed to be in order! ??? This fish was a double on and it was too much butt at first! n n The other one broke our gear in a tangle and this big mama was cutt free after the shutter release and went back to the bottom just like a ghost. This halibut was estimated to be about 250# and was caught using one of Sals Tanks in a nice topless narrow. It worked great and more pictures will follow! 8)

Wow Gary that's a great fish. Nice going on the catch and release keep the biguns breeding.
OMG :o
Great fishin'!
Awesome catch and release. I have caught just about most fish in my life that I have wanted to except a Barn door Halibut and a Black Marlin. Hopefully I can do that some day. Although successfully hunting an Elk is ahead of them. Way to go!
Keep up the good work.
Scott
Nice pics and report, Gary!

You might not live long enough in California, I've been putting in for elk tag for 15years and still haven't been drawn.
Awesome Gary! That is some Slob Butt. ;D
What a Fatty!

I am sure it is a tough draw. I will probably go through a outfitter in Wyoming or Montana when the time and finances are right. Hope your luck changes. I had similar luck with getting a Gator tag in Florida, I tried for the first five years and finally gave up. My nephew seems to have the luck of the draw and supplies me with meat so I guess I can't complain.
Gary,
Now that is a nice fish.
:o :o :o
Way to go!
Nice report Gary, I never had doubts on the Tank.
That fish looks familiar :).
Good work!
Sal

Dang. 250 lbs. How long was that thing? You should have thrown your hat in the water for perspective. Great catch.
