Some additional pictures in natural light 2, 3, and 4. This represents the look more accurately.
I'm kinda into purple. I definitely like the way it pops with the acrylics. This one, a 145 is one size up from my Jr., but is full Accurate and full out purple.
Sideplates, frame, and spool are all the real deal.
Internals include AT ratchet, CC ss dog, and upgraded drags. On these hard to find sideplates I prefer not to modify them for dd or other mods because of their rarity.
I have a good bunch of purple reels and will post them up when I get a chance.
External's include Maxed Out lever which works well with this squidder, Adams Ocean city style 2 3/4" star and AT's Jigmaster handle. All have been polished and Jeweled. This time around I used a little tighter pattern. More time consuming but I think looks pretty nice?
The acrylic knob gets several hours of finishing starting with 240 and ending up to 3000.
Several grades of plastic's polish complete the job.
I seldom hear a request for purple. Anybody else like it or am I the odd duck? Please don't answer that! (lol)
All have a great evening, .. Lou
;D Stunning!
Too sexy for fishing! :) ;D :D
You gonna fish that beauty Lou?
Gfish
Lou, that is a beauty. In my opinion it is made for display. ::) Dominick
That would be a granddaughters reel if it was mine. Sure is a beauty.
Too pretty to fish, but sublime work again Lou.
Just finished my first acrylic handle, inspired by your craftsmanship. Interested in the polish you use.
I'll get some pix up ASAP.
Nice shade of purple, although probably too close to pink for many blokes! ;D
I wouldn't let it bother you. It's a beautiful reel in any colour.
I have purple sideplates on a jigmaster and would be interested purchasing a knob from you
They look amazing
A craftsman, an engineer, an artist, and a gentleman!
Just another one from Lou...
Best,
Fred
The finish work on the handle and star drag add a lot of "bling" to that reel (not to mention the knob). Did you do that metal finishing, Lou?
Yep, what the others said... Too Nice for fishing.
Best to send it me so I can "protect" it from fish blood, slime, scales, saltwater and boat rash. ;)
Plum Crazy Purple...you a Mopar fan, Lou. I am!
Yes Decker, all work was done in my shop. I'll post a few more pics later as I had too much light and it looks washed out.
If anyone is interested in knobs I'm still trying to get caught up. Backlog is around 8 weeks. Best bet is to PM me
Thanks for all the comments, .. Lou
PS Chris, polish starts with 240 wet or dry and all grits in between up to 3000G, then 2 grades of automotive compound, and 3 grades of plastic polish. A bit time consuming. I suppose you could get away with less but I'm always looking for the absolute best results.
If you need the name and grades of final polish materials, just PM me. Good luck with your project!
Fred, thank you for the kind words , but I don't really deserve them!
Like yourself sir, we do these things because we enjoy them and the challenge they may bring. It also helps us keep our sanity ;D ;D
Please give my regards to Mrs. "O" and have a great day, .. Lou
No way that goes anywhere but on a shelf.
Lou has plenty of guns he can use.
she sure is pretty!!!!!!! awesome ,a work of art!
Fish it ! Or act like your fishing just to show it off! Lol...really really nice
What a gem Lou! I really like the mid sized reels...aka "99 width"...all inspired by those great ol' Silver Beach reels. 8)
You're not alone Lou, I also like purple, especially with black...nice reel ;)
Very Nice Lou. ;)
