Some 1/0 complete plates cheap on eBay. Lou handle. Newell kit. Spool from our own also. Haven't been through the guts yet but already great freespool. Note cast control on tail plate.
Nice reel, and I love that handle!
The cast sontrol knob looks like it came from a Shimano reel.
Very nice reel. Is there a small penn those parts won't fit? Like the light blue spool with the knob to match. Suprising what can fall out of a box!
Bazinga !! :o :o
Can I borrow your spare parts box please ?? ;D ;D
Wow! That's an awesome little beast to come together from spare parts! I don't know too much about senators other than the common 113h and 114h, what kind of internals and gears were in the 1/0?
Thanks folks. Ted, I'll be happy to trade my parts for yours, LOL. It's getting a Maxed Out shift also, just had to catch a flight and couldn't finish everything.
Keith, that knob says "pat. pending" and came from a 350 I bought years ago; it's a direct swap for the common 60 bushing.
Kyle, this guy is interesting: 99 bridge with 5-60 main gear. I will replace with carbontex when I open it back up, and I'm pretty sure I have a steel 5-60 somewhere I will swap in. I could change the sleeve to SS and easily fish 50lb braid at that point, but since I think it will cast really well I will likely put on a hundred yards of 30 mono and then braid up under as backing, and chunk baits with it. Or more likely, it will hang in a rack with the other numerous fist-sized reels I don't use lol.
The cast control knob looks like the "A Squared" product that I got offa a flea bay Jigmaster. Should bea screw and gasket on the top-side, if it's this critter, that you open up and fill with oil of a viscosity that best controls your casts. Penn chronology featured one witha box and even photographed the instructions. Now where was that post?

Gary see if you can find it. I never could find much out about this thing. I may stick a ReelDeal transmission on it just to fully Frankenreel the thing.

Sweet lookin' 1/0 John! 8)
Great John!
I have a bunch of boxes here and I wish they would get assembled as yours. The knob work pretty much keeps me consumed! Looks excellent!
.................Lou
I nearly bought those plates, brother John. Hmmmm...
Hey John is the handle bent or was it too much zin? Dominick
Naw, its straight. Never been used. I actually have another that I may switch to that matches Alan's spool.
Good work John.
More like a Transformer. ;)

Sorry John. Tried, but my search skills suck. You could try playin with it: If it's the same as mine, should bea screw onthe top side-with a gasket. Open 'er up and use somethin like a chopstick to dribble oil in there. If I remember right, the instructions said start with 30wt. and work down in viscosity for desired results. Mine works pretty good, just wish it didn't stick out so far.
