I have a set of Penn International 12LT reels that I use for kingfish (mackerel). They work great but I would like for the retrieve to be faster. I know that Cal can boost it to 5:1 if I also get them 2-speeded. Don't really need 2-speed. My LT's are 4:1. The 12V is 5.9:1, The 12 VI is over 6:1

If I buy the main gear and pinion gear for a 12V, can I make it fit/work in a 12 LT?

the V series reels are totally different, so they would not work. the VI series would likely be different still. :-\
