Thanks for sharing your piks I was liking the 540 ..... what kind f gear ratio does it have? The angled and contoured grip looks good too. Is this a Custom? Seems like you got some great reels. You need to go fishing! gst.

Thanks for your reply. My 540 has, I think a 3.75:1 gear ratio - or close to that. It has an AR bearing and a single dawg. The handle is a Tiburon T-Bar that works perfectly but I believe Tiburon no longer makes them. I don't know why they stopped. Anyway, I fish mine with 40lb line and it would handle 50 without a problem as it is capable of easy 15 pounds of drag. I would not want to push it any more than that because the gears may be hard to come by. This reel does not have interchangeable penn gears like the 545 and the 454.
