Title: Reel Comparison
Post by: Scattergun2570 on January 27, 2018, 05:01:20 AM
I was wondering if some of you wouldn`t mind taking a look at these two schematics.. these reels are close in design, bear the same name and almost identical model #..but they are different indeed. I own the 4000a..and have a chance to pick up the 4000,and I am wondering if one is better than the other..what the difference are. Oh yeah, the 4000 is black and gold..one other difference. Thanks

From a very quick inspection, the 4000 has a bigger drag stack and a spool bearing, which the 4000a does not appear to have.

Otherwise I was going cross-eyed looking at the schematics so I can't help beyond that...
