Title: Todays Armchair topic - Halibut fishing in norway
Post by: gstours on March 31, 2018, 05:58:19 PM
I thought this was both fun and learned a few things.   Like why the shark hook isnt my favorite way to secure a fish this size.  A bouy used to help fight the fish is good at times.   What kind of reels are these folk using.  at first thought spinning reels,   butt no?
Sit back and go fishing with us. ;)

I note that while the caption said 'Estonian Fishing Team' the narration and much of the banter is in the Russian language-still popular among older Estonians.

Not sure of the make they are using in the video but they are underhead reels. Most of the time they are used for jigging.

Thanks for your reply.  The reels seemed larger I the video,  but your right it's an underhand something reel.  What's the advantage?  If any?  I thought that they got a good trip and overall was worth sharing.  As we all fish differently in our areas, we fish therefore we are.🤦‍♀️     Have a good Easter 🐣 Sunday dinner,  and be glad you're not a fish 🐠
