Title: Surfmaster 150
Post by: AP on July 26, 2011, 03:53:31 PM
Alan,
I have an old surfmaster 150 that I do not believe has ever been used, it is in great condition. I would like to "hot rod" this thing, any suggestions: drag washers, bearings, spool, frame/spredder bar, etc..? What would you recommend to make it a smooth and reliable general purpose #20 reel.

Thanks,
Andon

see what kind of drag washers it has.  chances are you have leather.  change them out to carbon fiber with grease.  that really should be all you need.  a penn jigmaster power handle is another option.  alan
