I hooked this male Christmas wrasse(awela) while whipping for aholeahole on 4lb test mono and was released

Yeah. That's one a the more colorful ones. There's so many species here, I think I've only seen about 1/3 of what's in my fish id. book. They Like to follow you around when snorkeling, waitin for you to kick-up food items from the rocks/gravel/sand.
Interesting fish: they're hemaphrodites(spelling?). When population levels go down, males can switch to females and more eggs will be produced for the local population.
