Title: Reassembling TLD20 2 Speed, can’t find freespool
Post by: monkutare on April 25, 2018, 10:15:58 PM
I screwed up just trying to put a Tiburon frame onto a TLD20 2 Speed. It looked easy until I tried to put the lever back on and it was not in freespool/ out of gear in the normal freespool position on the reel. How do I adjust this so the lever position and the freespool function are back together.
Right now it's in gear
Thanks

Try turning the cam around 180 deg, and make sure it is properly seated before tightening the preset.

The cam inside the lever?

Yes, the cam inside the lever. If that doesn't work, open it up and make sure the pinion gear is seated properly on the drag cover of the spool.

Thanks that helped. I really messed up and found the real problem I caused by not checking the cross bar on the shaft going into the left sideplate. I bent it so the spool was not seated all the way. Duh

Do you think I should change out that cross bar and also one of the two really skinny  sideplate screws under the handle does not tighten down and is stripped. Is there any way to tighten it up or is it not that necessary
