Title: Serial Numbers
Post by: RamseyReelRepair on July 22, 2018, 12:39:04 PM
I've been told that each reel has a serial number somewhere on it. Is there a guide as to where to look for different brands? Or can someone point me in the right direction?

i have seen serial numbers on accurates, avet, some okumas, some penns and some shimanos.  only the higher end reels.  never did ever see a list.  likely only the manufacturers would know.

Older Garcia Mitchell spinning reels have a serial number on the bottom of the reel foot.

Alcedo spinners have serial numbers, and if I remember correctly, a few of the earliest Dam Standards do, too.
