Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Westley Ramsey and I live in Georgia. I do land surveying as my first job but I love working on reels and my boss is an avid salt fisherman who has a ton of reels mostly Penn and I service then for him. He mentioned I should get into doing that for a business since he thinks I'm pretty good at it so I'm starting up Ramsey Reel Repair as a side business. I'm 30 years old and have a beautiful wife and a crazy dog. ;D
Hopefully you all will hear a lot more from me. I don't have a site yet but everything is in the works and I'll announce it when I get one set up.

Hi, if you need help this is the place.
Thanks I've already gotten so much help from everyone on this site
Westley, welcome. So, we have a section for reel repair service centers. I can give you access to the photo hosting service and you can keep a running photo log of the reels you work on. Let me know also if you eventually want your own board. Helping guys like you is a priority here.
Welcome Wes !
My Mama lived in the Decatur area for many years and my sisters and the rest of my familyare scattered across the Decatur/Atlanta area.
I sure miss my Mama and the old beach house she had in Savannah . Best surf fishing I have ever experienced.
Some really good stream and pond fishing up where you live as well.
Best,
JT

Thanks Joe. What's the field like up there?
When I left in 2005 it was getting pretty slow, I have kept in contact with the Engineer that I was working with. He says the work is busy now. We did all Municipal work, such as public improvements, water plants, sewers, storm, and roads.

We are totally covered up and even turning down some work
Wes: That's great to hear, because I know here in the "North" survey teems were always getting laid off in the winter months. Civil Engineers worked all threw the year. My last 3 years I was in land development and I retired. Never to look back... ;D ;D ;D
Joe
I don't blame ya. It seems like feast or famine but the feast has been long and good this year. Enjoy your retirement!

Welcome from NW Florida.
I started when i was 16. I'm 63 now.
When your a kid with no money you have to fix things yourself. Once you get good at it other people want you to fix theirs. It was all Mitchell reels back then. Nothing else was available.
Welcome West!!!
Brett, from AZ
